Outreach
In addition to enjoying an active performing career, Classical Jam is dedicated to arts in education, outreach, and audience adevelopment. Classical Jam offers workshops for teachers, students, and adults as well as masterclasses for flute, violin, viola, cello, and percussion. Classical Master Jam Classical Jam conducts masterclasses for violin, viola, cello, flute, and percussion exploring performance practice, instrumental rehearsal technique, and stylistic approaches. Workshop for Adults
“Imagination and Process” In a hands-on interactive format, “Imagination and Process” explores how a composer’s inspiration is formed in the world around us. In the workshop, participants will create their own original music based on relevant life inspirations. Sample Workshop for Students “Weaving Rhythm and Textures” In this workshop, students will explore rhythms from around the world through experiencing dance movements such as the tango, rumba, salsa, and tribe. Sample Workshop for Classroom/Music Teachers “Discovering Musical Lenses” Part I-Discovering New Lenses Learn new techniques to discover different ways to listen to the same piece of music. Part II-Techniques for Deeper Listening Listen more deeply through composing, physical movements, and visual arts. Part III-Teaching Specific Musical Ideas/Incorporating Music into the Curriculum Learn to create musical opportunities in the classroom.
