Classical Jam Live! “Classical Jam Live! “creates a platform
where musicians as diverse as soloists, orchestral players, chamber musicians, teaching artists, and composers come together
to explore and read chamber music in a casual and relaxed setting. These reading sessions can serve to bring chamber music
back into small intimate atmospheres, allow a rather rare type of interaction between musicians to flourish, and to create
a closer relationship between listeners and artists.
Between 12 to16 professional musicians are invited to gather
at a home and play several chamber works in a party setting, where neighbors and friends may join in and listen. These musicians,
many of them renowned, may include members of major symphonies, chamber music groups, and soloists, professors, and students
etc. A fun drawing at the beginning of the jam session will determine what piece, and with whom the musicians will play. The
goal is to ensure that all musicians will get a chance to play with each other.
Not only will musicians and listeners
get to know each other, all will get a chance to explore a wide range of chamber music repertoire. At these gatherings, some
musicians will know each other; many will meet each other for the first time. It is an opportunity for musicians to learn
from each other and to network.
Participated musicians include:
Violin: Jennifer Choi, Katherine Fong;
Kelly Hall-Tompkins, Judy Kang, Arnaud Sussmann, Erin Keefe, David Bowlin, Yuri Namkung, Suzy Perelman, Katie Lansdale, Andrea
Hallam, Anna Elashvili, Sarah Kapustin, and Tai Murray

Scheindlin, Danielle Farina, Mark Holloway, Melissa Reardon, and Miranda Sielaff

Young Classical Jam “Young
Classical Jam” functions similarly as “Classical Jam Live!”. Young musicians (age 9-17)as well as mentors
gather in private homes and read chamber music for fun. It provides an intensive chamber music sharing experience between
young musicians, as well as between mentors and young musicians.
Jam In Concert “Jam
In Concert” is a concert series where musicians come together in formal concert as a result of exploration with participants
in “Classical Jam Live!”. The goal is to connect these musicians with audiences of all types in all different
venues, may they be major concert halls or private homes.
1001 Ways To Promote Classical Music I am inspired and convinced that each of us (whether we are presenters, artists managers, members
from service organizations, orchestras, performers, educators, or audiences alike.... ) can make a difference in promoting
classical music.
Here
are some ways that we can promote. I invite you to submit your ideas so that the list can grow to 1001.
I encourage everyone to actually test out the ideas and report back to us your success! Click here to see some ideas that I have put down already. Check back frequently for updates!
Best Wishes Wendy
